Brian Head

Seeing all of these kids together makes me so happy!

We met our dear friends from grad school-- the Lloyd's and Walker's--in Brian Head, Utah for a ski weekend. It was so dreamy! Everything really worked out perfectly. The weather was beautiful, the snow was pretty good and the kids learned to ski! We loved catching up with friends, playing games, eating good food and laughing a lot. It was so sweet to see the kids all interact and play so well together.

The girls were hesitant about going to ski school. They were brave and tried it out and had a great time! I will never forget the look on Gwen's face after ski school as she zoomed down the mountain. She was so proud of herself and rightfully so! They did a great job learning and were independent, fast skiers by the end of two days. Watching them ride the chair lift by themselves made me nervous, but they had it down and knew just what to do. My dreams of family ski vacations are coming true!

Clara was a good sport and happy to be out of the snow and inside the cabin. Becca was so nice to watch her and Amelia one morning so Paul and I could ski together.

Silly kids.

Gorgeous views from our cabin.

Kate and Peter reunited! These guys were best buds as 1 and 2 year olds. It was fun to see them together again.

Our lip sync activity was a favorite!

Clara became a bit obsessed with Amelia's scooter.

Chair lift selfies.

George's rock--crazy Paul Walker went off this scary jump!

Lots of games and good food!

Looking forward to next time!

February

Looking back through these photos I realize that we had many happy days in February. That said, I'm so happy it's over! A few highlights...

Our Tanner Family Superbowl Party tradition is a fun one. Food and fancy sodas in front of the tv. The game was fun to watch--even with a sad ending!

Paul went to Colorado for a ski trip with friends.

We attended Ryland's first birthday party! We love cousins.

Clara is always looking for a playmate. I love having her underfoot--even if she does make a lot of messes!

A few Saturday outings... the beach on a glorious 75 degree morning and a hike to the "top of the world" in Laguna Beach.

A new love/hate relationship with Monopoly. The game that never ends.

Some home updates! Here are a few before pictures of our office and living room. Our office has been neglected for the 3 years we've lived in this house. After lots of paint and new cabinets and desks it's feeling much brighter and more functional.

The office isn't quite done but here are some progress photos.

These matching sisters love each other so much. I'm so happy for them that they have sisters.

Kate started taking piano lessons and we all enjoy hearing her practice at 6:20 every morning! This day she was practicing with Flat Stanley before her lesson.

Kate has also been setting lots of important goals. I love finding these papers around the house.

The dark spot in our February was when we found out we had lost a baby girl at 17 weeks. Our hearts are broken. On the bright side we felt so loved by friends and family and felt peace that comes only through our faith in the Lord and in His plan for us. We have many blessings to be thankful for.
