Lake Arrowhead

We spent Presidents weekend up in the mountains at Lake Arrowhead.
The people who made it possible! My parents took us up there again this year to a cabin we've stayed at a couple of times before. We were spoiled with my mom's cooking all weekend long.
The kids loved it. Kate can't stop talking about how she wants to go back to Lake Arrowhead and how sad she was to leave.

Gwen and Leah tasting salt. Delicious.

Going on a nature walk. The first day we got there it looked pretty brown.

Kate and Sara did manage to find a small patch of snow (and dirt) that looked appetizing.

Fine entertainment provided by Dora.
Lots of coloring, crafts and time with cousins.

Saturday morning we woke to a dusting of snow. Enough to make the kids happy.

This picture was taken Sunday morning after the kids woke up. Look at the picture below to see what they found. It snowed 2 feet Saturday night! It made the perfect, fluffy snow for playing in, eating, throwing and building snowmen.

And Gwen's face sums up how she felt about the snow play. Miserable. She hated it. "Stay in the house" was what she kept saying over and over. She preferred the brown mud.
The rest of us were in heaven!

Now THAT is the way to enjoy winter--for one week! Looks like a blast! Peter is similarly unimpressed with the snow and is always pulling me back inside. A second child thing?

btw, I just bought tickets to go to Utah in April/first week of May. Are you still thinking about going to Women's Conference? I would love to see you if I can!

Hi Jill! I love your pictures. It always surprises me to see snow in California.
