A few nights ago while putting Kate to bed:
"Mom, are there going to be any volcanoes forming in our country soon?"
No.
“What about dinosaurs, are any going to be born soon?”
No. They are extinct.
“Did the humans kill them all?”
No they were here before us.
“And dragons too?”
Those are just pretend.
“Ok. And monsters? Those are pretend too?”
Overheard during our game of cootie Sunday:
“Dad, what do you want your cootie guy to be named?”
Hm… how about the dominator.
“Dad! No, how about strawberry drop.”
Kate is my little buddy. All you have to do is smile at her and she gets a big, sweet, cheesy grin on her face and smiles back at you. She will come up and squeeze my cheeks and kiss me. She really is all sugar and spice. She just finished up her first year of preschool and loved it. She learned so much and made many good friends. She can't wait to go back next year. For now though, she's all mine. I'm excited to have more time to spend with her this summer and I've got to get busy answering all her questions! Today I heard "Mom, where does paper come from?" "And Mom, how do they make plastic?" "And Mom, have you ever seen a tortoise?"
