Beautiful Ojai

We've been spending part of Paul's Spring Break (he gets 2 weeks!) in California with my family. Last week my parents were nice enough to watch Kate and we took a little time for ourselves. We wanted to go some place new and relatively close (no more plane flights!) so we thought we'd check out Ojai, CA. It was very pretty and peaceful. We enjoyed sleeping in and laid in bed much longer than we needed to... but after waking up with the sun (and Kate) for the past 13 months we felt we deserved it! We went for 3 nights and thought that was perfect for our first time away from our little one.
We spent time hiking and enjoying the scenery and warm weather.
We took a day trip to Santa Barbara and couldn't have asked for a better day--it felt like summer!

Our last night we decided to do something different and take a cooking class. Paul went along with it and he'll even tell you he had fun! The culinary school is run out of an old mission style home that has been remodeled with the kitchen encompassing the entire first floor. Everything is top of line (think viking stoves, subzero fridges, peg board wall a la Julia Child) it was gorgeous! A lot of the produce we cooked with was grown in the garden on the property. Organic and local!
It was a fun, restful and relaxing trip.

You guys are so good to try something new together. I'm not sure if I could get Corey to a cooking class but I bet he'd have just as much fun!
