Before kate got too sick last weekend we visited Salt Lake City’s Main library. Being a stay at home parent in the cold Connecticut winter, you become well acquainted with local libraries while trying to keep a little one entertained when you can’t go outside. That said, we were soo impressed with this library. It was amazing! It was 4 stories and seemed more like a giant upscale bookstore than a public library. It had fancy coffee and gift shops and the kid's library was awesome. It was an entire floor of books and playrooms. Along the walls were little doors that opened up into mini tree houses, pretend ice caves and reading nooks. Kate loved playing here and it made me wish we had something this cool in Connecticut.

One random observation, Paul and I kept saying last weekend “People are so nice here”. After living in Manhattan and now in Connecticut we’ve developed thicker skin. There are plenty of nice people on the East Coast, but the customer service at a lot of places could use a little “sweetening”. Being in Utah we noticed a big difference! Hopefully it’s not affecting us too much…
On Saturday we drove down to Provo to visit Paul’s siblings Rachel, her husband Matt, and Grant. We also paid a visit to our Alma Mater. We tried to get a few snapshots of Kate, but she was too busy cruising around to pay any attention to the camera. She is getting better at walking and loves to be on the move!

I love the SLC library. Eli and I lived just a few blocks from it my last year at BYU. Kate is so cute walking around.
What do you mean you were in Utah? And we didn't see you? What? Well, maybe next weekend in Cali...
