It's been a while since I posted about what our sweet Kate is up to. It seems she is growing up so fast. Some of her newest tricks are:

Talking. Well, she's been saying words for a while, but it seems like lately she learns a new word every day. She said her first sentence: "Kitty cat, where are you?" only it sounds more like "kit kat, are you?" She'll stand at the screen door and yell for her friend, the kitty.

She also has gotten quite good at saying her words over and over and over. She reminds us of the seagulls on the movie Finding Nemo. The ones that say "mine, mine, mine, mine". Only with kate it's either "cracker, cracker, cracker" "more, more, more" "drink, drink, drink" "up, up, up" or if we're at the grocery store "apple, apple, apple" all through the produce section.

She has an obsession with jewelry or as she calls it "pre-pre" translates: pretty, pretty. It actually extends to anything sparkly and she especially likes to point out the sparkly streamers in restaurants or stores. Over and over again.

Kate loves singing songs and doing the motions along with them. Her favorites are "popcorn popping", "head, shoulders, knees and toes" and "if you're happy and you know it clap your hands". Her favorite verse is the hooray one. Once you start singing these you'll soon hear "more, more, more".

Kate also loves to dance and always has. She's got some killer moves including the knee bend, hand raise and she's starting to master the foot stomp.

She loves to give kisses. Ask for a kiss and usually she'll lunge at you mouth wide open.

Recently Kate started carrying her "purse" around the house. It can be my purse, her little purse, my cosmetic bag or anything with handles that resembles a purse (scriptures are a good one too). She carries them on one arm, with her cell phone up to her ear and her keys in the other hand. Sometimes she'll even try to hold her baby at the same time. I wonder where she learned this from?

Kate also recently decided that she loves to put her head under water in the pool. Don't worry, this is only done under adult supervision.

This girl has her opinions. Strong opinions. She is mastering the art of the arched back, howling tantrum when things aren't going her way or she can't find words for what she wants. We are mastering the art of not getting frustrated back.

Kate still likes to read books, especially her the Butterfly book. It has a pop-up butterfly on the last page and no matter how many times she's seen it, she still always says "ooohhh" when it pops up. This amuses her for a long time. That and emptying my wallet all over the floor.

She can now run pretty fast. Especially when it's time for a diaper change or getting dressed.

We love her personality. She adds a lot of life and fun and joy to our family and we can't imagine life without her!
